What is 10 times greater than 14?

Let's assume the answer = 140 (since 10 x 14 = 140). Then shouldn't this statement be true?:

140 is greater than 10 x 14.

But that is not true. 140 is not greater than 10 x 14. It is the same!

To make it greater, we could make make a formula like (a+1)b where a=10 and b=14 to get this answer:

(10 + 1) x 14 = 154

But if that is the case, why not simply say "What is 11 times 14?" instead of saying "times greater than?"
