"How many times can you subtract 10 from 99?" is a tricky question. We think that there are three different answers to this question.

Answer 1: Once
It is once, because after you subtract 10 from 99 once, you are left with 89. Thus, you cannot subtract 10 again from 99.

Answer 2: 9.9 times
9.9 times, because 99 divided by 10 is 9.9. After you subtract 10, 9.9 times from 99, then there is nothing left to subtract from.

Answer 3: Infinite
There is nothing that says you can't keep subtracting 10 from 99 indefinitely. Just because you will end up with negative numbers doesn't mean you have to stop subtracting!
