What is 6 times greater than 7?

42 is greater than 6 x 7.

But that is not true. 42 is not greater than 6 x 7. It is the same!

(6 + 1) x 7 = 49

But if that is the case, why not simply say "What is 7 times 7?" instead of saying "times greater than?"
