What is 5 times greater than 6?

5 times greater than 6 seems easy enough, but is it?

Let's assume the answer = 30 (since 5 x 6 = 30). Then shouldn't this statement be true?:

30 is greater than 5 x 6.

But that is not true. 30 is not greater than 5 x 6. It is the same!

To make it greater, we could make make a formula like (a+1)b where a=5 and b=6 to get this answer:

(5 + 1) x 6 = 36

But if that is the case, why not simply say "What is 6 times 6?" instead of saying "times greater than?"
