Let's assume the answer = 280 (since 40 x 7 = 280). Then shouldn't this statement be true?:

280 is greater than 40 x 7.

But that is not true. 280 is not greater than 40 x 7. It is the same!

(40 + 1) x 7 = 287

But if that is the case, why not simply say "What is 41 times 7?" instead of saying "times greater than?"
