What is 10 times greater than 18?

Let's assume the answer = 180 (since 10 x 18 = 180). Then shouldn't this statement be true?:

180 is greater than 10 x 18.

But that is not true. 180 is not greater than 10 x 18. It is the same!

(10 + 1) x 18 = 198

But if that is the case, why not simply say "What is 11 times 18?" instead of saying "times greater than?"
